This well regarded Independent Civil Engineering and Planning Consultancy are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join their successful infrastructure design team. The role
As part of an established team, you will find yourself working on innovative and challenging range of projects in a flexible, supportive, and rewarding environment. The projects themselves are wide ranging and include urban regeneration, residential, commercial, education and industrial. You’ll be given the opportunity to work on schemes through the planning, design and delivery stages, giving you the chance to see your work really make a different.
Previous successful projects include new residential urban regeneration schemes, city centre commercial brown field development, major film production studios, award winning Hospital developments and the major redevelopment of Battersea Power Station. All embracing active travel and designed to create better spaces for everyone.
Each project presents its own unique challenges, and our client really prides themselves on their ability to deliver exceptional bespoke solutions.
Key Requirements:
- At least 5 years' experience in a UK consultancy working on highway design schemes
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Site3D as well as InfoDrainage and Microdrainage
- Strong understanding of highway design standards, guidelines, and processes
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with teams, clients, and contractors
- Practical knowledge of project delivery, from planning through to completion
- Good written skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with the multi-disciplinary nature of projects
Specific Experience:
- Experience with civil engineering design across all stages of the project lifecycle, from earlier project brief, through to preliminary and detailed design and construction.
- Ability to liaise both internal and external bodies, including planning authorities, statutory undertakers, and national bodies like the Environment Agency
- Experience in Section 278 / 38 highway designs
- Capable of producing design work in line with DMRB and local authority guidelines
- Familiarity with residential estate roads, commercial/industrial access, and pavement design
- Drainage design and FRA experience highly desirable
- Knowledge of ground modelling, geotechnical, and environmental appraisals
- Experience in NRSWA utility diversion process
